Gear Up to Give Back: 2020 Food Drive

GEAR UP TO GIVE BACK! Join us in having a positive impact on our local communities. Drop off non-perishable food or personal care items to your local West Side Tractor store from Monday, November 16 – Friday, December 4.

Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the US, estimates that 17 million people in the country will become food insecure because of the pandemic.  A separate analysis by researchers at Northwestern found insecurity has more than tripled among households with children to 29.5%. School lunch programs were already struggling to meet rising demand before the pandemic. With COVID-19 now keeping children out of school, many don’t have access to consistent school lunches at all. Food banks across the country are reporting increased demand while facing operational challenges, and demand for charitable food assistance is expected to remain at elevated levels for the foreseeable future.

Watch this video on how Loaves & Fishes has been impacted by COVID-19.

All Illinois branches will be collecting for Loaves & Fishes. In Indiana, each branch will collect for a local food bank partner. Below are links for each West Side Tractor branch and their local food bank partner with a list of most needed items:
